What's a Microcontroller?
A Microcontroller is essentially an inexpensive single chip computer. So that, it's called a Microcomputyer.
Single chip means the entire computer system lines within the confines of a silver of silicon encapsulated
inside the plastic housing of an integrated circuit. The microcontroller has features similar to those of
a standard personal computer.
The Microcontroller contains a CPU (Central Processing Unit), ROM (Read Only Memory), RAM (Random Access Memory),
I/O - Input/Output Pins(lines), Serial & Parallel ports, Internal Timers & some times other build in peripherals
such as ADC (Analog to Digital Converter) and DAC (Digital to Analog Converter).
The key Feature,
"However, is the Microcontroller's capability of uploading, storing & running a program."
In addition to it's ability to run programs, the microcontroller has input & output pines(Lines) that
are used to control motor drive system , read sensors and communicate. We demand a lot from our Microcontroller's.
So it's important to have a good idea of what a microcontroller is right from the start.
I am always Love to using PIC Series of Microcontroller from Microchip Technology Inc. The most popular PIC
Microcontroller IC's model name is PIC16F877A, PIC16F84A, PIC16F72/73, PIC12F675 etc.
